Passive Causative part 2

 


¿What is this?

1. Use the causative to allow or petmit someone to do something. 
Use LET + person + base form of the verb.

Examples:

  • My father lets us watch tv after dinnner
  • Let me handle this
  • My mom lets me eat pizza at dinner
2. You can also use make + person+ base form as a causative.
To force or pressure someone to do something.

Examples:
  • The police made them surrender
  • My girlfriend made me buy a ring

Bonus: Offer Solution

Ideas for requests:
  • Lend you: I'll lend you this book.
  • Drive you to: I'll drive you to your school.
  • Pick up: My friend picked up someone yesterday.
  • Pick up someone from: My brother picked up me from the airport
Some reasons to turn down a request:
  • You're late for an appointment
  • You have a meetin in an hour
  • You're expecting an important phone call
  • Your own reason...

  • Mom, i'm going to visith our dressmaker to lengthen my skirt.
  • Sir, could i have copied these reports by tomorrow?
  • I need to repair my shoes, maybe i can tell my uncle about it, ¡he's  an excellent shoemaker!
